KCT WOMEN’S ONLY CARBINE FUNDAMENTALS
You do not need to own a Carbine for this course you can rent a Geissele 14.5” Super Duty (5.56mm, equipped with an Aimpoint Micro T-2 red dot, forward grip, and sling) from KCT for use during the course. 5hrs of instruction (3hr block of instruction, 1hr lunch, 2hr block of instruction)
In this course, we will focus on building a solid foundation through the fundamentals of marksmanship. Once a solid foundation is there then we can improve your skills as we go through each of the topics of discussion before we get into functional combat shooting techniques and the drills to improve upon them.
Course Content
- Choosing a carbine to suit your needs
- Gun belt setup
- Weapons safety and rules of safe handling
- Loading and unloading your carbine
- How correct dry fire practice builds correct muscle memory
- Importance of mindset to help shape how you perform in stressful situations
- Malfunctions and fighting through them
- Speed drills, accuracy drills, and the difference between them
- Rifle maintenance
Student requirements
- 300 rounds of ammo (NO GREEN TIP or STEEL CORE AMMO)
- Carbine of choice
- Carbine Sling
- If applicable, cover range fees if the class is hosted by a local gun range - info enclosed in confirmation email
- 4 functional mags
- Pistol belt with holster and mag pouches
- Eye and ear protection
- Appropriate clothing and foot attire (Pants, closed-toe shoes)
- Water and food for the day
- Rifle maintenance kit, to include lube
Optional items to bring
- Kneepads
- Gloves
- Raingear/cold-weather gear as needed
- Cooler
- Sunblock
Instructors will remove anyone from the class for any reason they deem to be an endangerment to themselves or to others. No refund if removed from the course for a safety violation.
